--From the CD "Satisfied Mind", with James Montgomery
I have worked and recorded at many fine studios in the Northeast, including New York City, Boston, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine and worked with many excellent engineers. Randy Roos is one of the best engineers and producers I have encountered. His encouraging manner and technical expertise, not to mention his expert musicianship, sets the stage for success in any project he takes on. The atmosphere at his studio, Squam Sound, puts one instantly at ease allowing the artist to produce his best performance. -Bob McCarthy |

Just Kiddin |
--From the CD "Now I Understand"
When you book time at Squam you not only have access to a great studio with good-sounding rooms and excellent gear, but also an engineer - Randy Roos - who has incredible ears and years of experience not only in the recording of music, but in all aspects of the making of it. He is an entirely original guitar player who I have had the pleasure of playing with in my band Club d'Elf, as well as being the man behind the sounds for much of our recent recording. It is quite a package deal you get at Squam, what with Randy's expert ears, his availability to play guitar on your project and give valuable musical advice and take it through all the way to and including mastering. -Mike Rivard (Bassist/Producer for Club d'Elf, bassist - Morphine & Mark Sandman, G Love, Jonatha Brooke & The Story, Aimee Mann, Jon Brion, John Medeski & Billy Martin)

Landfall |
--From the CD "Landfall"
The Squam Sound experience
marked a new beginning to a twenty year recording
career. The interest and enthusiasm that Randy Roos
expressed during the project accentuated his supernal
skills in engineering and made the marvel of his
musical presence even more palpable. It is as an
aside almost to say that the sound of the finished
product betrays the work of a master engineer and
producer.

One More Pair of Shoes |
--From the CD "Something Like That"
Andrea and I had a pretty ambitious goal - to track and mix 10 tunes for our
CD in 5 days. We knew that my long time friend Randy Roos had a great studio
and a great ear for different genres of music. Most of my dealings with
Randy had been in the jazz direction, but I was familiar with his other work
for TV and his own projects. We knew he could lend a much needed "third ear"
to our acoustic/jazzy/new world folk type thing.
We were right, Randy totally hooked us up. He found great players for us
(Mike Rivard and Vinnie Sabatino) to track with, as well a symphony player
(Colleen Brannen) for a violin solo we needed. And he contributed a smokin' guitar
solo on one cut!
On the studio side, we had a great collection of mics and outboard gear to
work with, and Randy's expertise with Logic Audio made the tracking and mixing
go very smoothly. And he hung in there with late night sessions till 3 AM or
so....he added a lot of energy to the project.
